Claudia R. Williamson is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Mississippi State University. Her research focuses on applied microeconomics, the political economy of development, and the effectiveness of development policies, such as foreign aid. Claudia completed her PhD in economics at West Virginia University in May 2008 and was the F.A. Hayek Visiting Scholar in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at George Mason University from 2007 to 2008. She was also a post-doctoral fellow at the Development Research Institute from 2009-2012 and spent the 2008-2009 year as an assistant professor of economics at Appalachian State University. During the summer of 2007, she performed fieldwork on land titling in rural Peru.
